After gaining her Master of Arts (Hons) Degree in Scottish and Medieval History and a postgraduate degree in Museology, Katie's career (a heritage professional of 26 years) has given her a varied work life.  It's been a career in education, running a museum and in community heritage work.

Well-versed in Scottish traditions, the humour, language, food and drink. She has a wealth of knowledge about history, archaeology and geography. All that aside - she loves shopping, which can come in very handy if clients wish to shop for something special. With a very high level of customer care, Katie will always go that extra mile for her clients.

Katie was in a Jacobite re-enactment society for 20 years and helped to research and develop women's roles in Jacobite early living history, a real-life Outlander, so if you want to know anything about the Outlander way of life, just ask!

In her spare time, she loves researching family history, tracing her roots back to the Picts in Perthshire in the 7th century and her highland family of the MacPherson clan to the 16th century. She also loves going to the gym, running, and reading. She is a busy mum of two, originally from Edinburgh but now lives in Glasgow.

Katie is passionate about caring for her clients, with a genuine desire for your tour to be the highlight of your holiday. She is an effervescent and enthusiastic guide, who loves to inspire her clients to discover the best Scotland has to offer.
